  2. What are the 5 Process Skills? Scientists use the 5 process skills to experiment and learn about the world around them. These are the five main skills that scientists use. Observation Communication Comparison Order Categorization

  3. Observing • Use your senses in order to observe or to learn more about something. • Some of the traits you might look for are size, shape, color, or texture.

  4. Communicating • Scientists communicate or share the information that is discovered. • This information can be shared orally or in written form (like a journal, picture, or graph).

  5. Comparing • Compare two or more objects by identifying what is similar and what is different. • Frogs • Amphibian • Green • Live in water • Need air to survive • Cats • Mammal • Furry • Live on land • Both • Need air to survive • Have 4 legs • Breathe Venn diagrams are a helpful way compare objects!

  6. Ordering • Scientists put things in an organized order to help make information easy to understand.

  7. Categorizing • Place objects into categories based on their similarities. Plants Animals ?
