  3. UKRR is… A collaborative, coordinated and sustainable approach to long-term retention, storage and access to low use print research journals. M25 Consortium AGM 2009

  4. UKRR delivers… • Quick and easy access to research material • Coordinated retention of print journals • Collaborative storage of print journals • Release of space for other uses • Funding for deduplication in HE libraries M25 Consortium AGM 2009

  5. Backstory.. • Pilot project: • January 2007 to August 2008 • Funded by HEFCE – c.£709k • 8 partner libraries • Achievements (some): • More than 8k titles held in the RR • Over 11k metres of shelf space released • BL holdings strengthened • Proof of concept RLUK AGM April 2009

  8. UKRR Phase 2 Funding • £9.8m from HEFCE • For UKRR members: • is based on activity costings • awarded per linear metre of deduplicated material • a fixed rate of £26.16 plm M25 Consortium AGM 2009
