  2. 1870 • Phonograph cylinder by Thomas Edison.

  3. 1895 Gramophone record These were used in the Phonographs to play any kind of music that is on the record.

  4. 1898 78rpm or 78s This little disc was used to spin the record on the gramophone. They even had an actual speed ranged from about 78 to 80 rpm.

  5. 1930s Wire recording! Wire recording is when you record Any kind of audio and little Markings are made on the wire.

  6. 1940s Reel-to-reel tape Magnetic tape This tape was used to record voice recordings, and any other audio. Once your done, you can play it back and listen to it.

  7. 1948 Vinyl record This was one of the first recording CDs or records invented.

  8. 1957 Stereophonic vinyl record These are just like the regular Vinyl Record, but this One records Music.

  9. 1963 Audio cassette A dual cassette-based Panasonic answering machine. The Compact Cassette originally was intended for use in dictation machines.

  10. 1964 8-track tape The 8 track tape could hold up to 8 types of

  11. 1969 Microcassette This is an audio storage medium introduced by Olympus in 1969.

  12. 1975 Betamax digital audio These are the things all of Your childhood Movies are on!

  13. 1982 Compact disc The Compact Disc, or CD for short, is an optical disc used to store digital data. It was originally developed to store and play back sound recordings only.

  14. 1985 CD-ROM This was the first CD that people could burn movies, home videos and other footage.

  15. 1987 Digital audio tape (DAT)

  16. 1990s Digital compact cassette

  17. 1991 Minidisc The Minidisc (MD) is a magneto-optical disc-based data storage device initially intended for storage of up to 74 minutes and, later, 80 minutes.

  22. 1999 Streaming audio This is what everyone used In the late 90s to edit Any kind of audio they Were dealing with.

  23. 1999 Super audio CD (SACD) The SACD has many diffrent layers in it so the audio you burn on the CD has higher Quality.

  24. 2000 \][]DVD-Audio][]\ This was the first professional audio downloader and editor, so everyone that does anything professional with audio, were diffidently getting that!

  25. 2004 Dual Disc The dual disc was the CD With two sides that had Two different proposes, one Side for the CD audio, And the other side for the DVD data That was burned on the disc.

  26. 2005 Playaway Playaway is a newer mp3 made in 2005 that can hold more songs but doesn’t have a screen.
