  5. HDMI Product Installation Before we start… The most current Installation Manuals and Software are located at: www.intelix.com under “Technical Library”

  6. HDMI Product Installation Installing the DIGI-HD-UHR2 and DIGI-HD-IR2

  7. Installing the UTP Extenders Installation Considerations • Use the EIA/TIA 568B Crimp Pattern • Power is required on send and receive extenders • Third-party IR systems are not compatiblewith the DIGI-HD-IR2 (Intelix is a 5V system) • The extenders will feel warm (98 degrees F) • Do not connect the balun to a telecommunication outlet wired to unrelated equipment. • Ensure all connected twisted pair cabling is straight-through (point-to-point)

  8. Installing the UTP Extenders Instructions • Power off all AV equipment • Make sure you have a point-to-point circuit. • Make sure source and display work with HDMI cable • Test the HDMI patch cables

  9. Installing the UTP Extenders Instructions • Connect the DIGI-HD-UHR2 transmitter to the source then the receiver to the display (no power) • Connect the CAT cable

  10. Installing the UTP Extenders Instructions • Power on the receiver then transmitter • Power on the source and display devices • Verify picture quality

  11. Installing the UTP Extenders Copying EDID - DIGI-HD-UHR2 • Disconnect the transmitter and receiver • Connect transmitter to display with HDMI cable

  12. Installing the UTP Extenders Copying EDID - DIGI-HD-UHR2 • Press “Hand Shake” button • LEDs will flash and then remain solid • EDID is copied • Disconnect transmitter and repeat normal installation

  13. Installing the UTP Extenders Bandwidth Shaping DIGI-HR-UHR2 Transmitter DIP Switch Positions • Unplug all of the cables to make DIP switch changes • Change the DIP switch position • Reconnect the transmitter • The UHR2 will not pass EDID information from the display to the source

  14. Installing the UTP Extenders Bandwidth Shaping DIGI-HR-IR2 Transmitter DIP Switch Positions • Unplug all of the cables to make DIP switch changes • Change the DIP switch position • Reconnect the transmitter • The IR2 will pass EDID information from the display to the source.

  15. Installing the UTP Extenders Using IR with the DIGI-HD-IR2 • Disconnect power from Baluns • Attach emitter to source and eye to display • Plug the emitter into send side of DIGI-HD-IR2 • Plug the eye into the receive side of DIGI-HD-IR2

  16. Installing the UTP Extenders Using IR with the DIGI-HD-IR2 • Power the extenders and test IR

  17. HDMI Product Installation Installing the DIGI-HD-COAX-S and the DIGI-HD-COAX-R

  18. Installing the DIGI-COAX Installation Considerations • Will only run at 3 resolutions • 720p-60 • 1080i-30 • 1080p-60 • DVI will only work at the available resolutions • Source equipment will need to be forced into available resolutions • No taps, splitters, amps, pads or filters • Works with barrels or F-connectors • Needs a minimum of 50’ of 75 Ohm cable • Does not pass 3D

  19. Installing the DIGI-COAX Instructions • Power off all AV equipment • Make sure you have a point-to-point circuit. • No taps, splitters, amps, pads or filters • Works with barrels or f-connectors

  20. Installing the DIGI-COAX Instructions • Connect the transmitter to the source then the receiver to the display (no power) • Connect the COAX cable to the “A” side of the transmitter (BNC or F-connector) • Connect the Coax to the “input” on the receiver

  21. Installing the DIGI-COAX Instructions • Power on the receiver then transmitter • Power on the source and display devices • Verify picture quality

  22. Installing the DIGI-COAX HDMI Digital Signage Application

  23. HDMI Product Installation Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Switcher/Format Converter/Scaler

  24. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 DIGI-SCAL-11x2

  25. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Installation Considerations • HDMI outputs are mirrored not matrixed • 3 to 5 second switch time • Video blue screen during switch process • Volume cannot be changed • It will not convert audio from digital or analog stereo to multi channel digital audio • It will only convert analog stereo audio to PCM digital stereo audio and back.

  26. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Installation Instructions • Attach the feet or the rack ears depending on how the unit will be mounted. (The DIGI-SCAL-11X2 requires one rack unit of spacing.)

  27. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Installation Instructions • Power off source and destination devices • Connect input sources • Connect output destination(s)

  28. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Installation Instructions • Connect power supply • Connect RS232 or IR if the unit is remote controlled • Power on DIGI-SCAL-11x2 • Power on source and designation devices

  29. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Operation – Channel Pairing • Audio and Video pairing are as follows:

  30. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Operation – Channel Pairing • VGA Audio • S-video Audio • DVI-I

  31. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Built-in Audio Conversion and Embedding Analog Stereo Audio In PCM Digital Audio Out PCM Digital Audio Out Analog Audio Out PCM Digital Audio In PCM Digital Audio Out PCM Digital Audio Out Analog Audio Out

  32. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Operation – Front Control Panel • Power on the unit by selecting the Standby button. • Select the input with the rotary knob. • Select output resolution with the Mode Selection button.

  33. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Operation – Supported Signal Formats

  34. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Operation – Included Remote Control

  35. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Operation – PC Bypass Mode • PC Bypass Mode allows a computer’s native resolution to display on the destination monitor. • When using PC Bypass Mode, the front panel indicators will disable. In addition, the default output will be in 1080p. • PC Bypass mode will only function when a VGA or DVI signal is present and my be activated from the remote control or the “Mode Selection” button.

  36. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Operation – On Screen Display

  37. Installing the DIGI-SCAL-11x2 Operation – RS232 Remote Control • The manual has a complete list of the RS232 control codes • Connect a straight-through serial cable directly to the matrix 9600 baud rate 8 data bits 1 stop bit No parity bit No handshake
