  3. What is ESTIEM • European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management. This network was founded in 1990. At the moment approximately 50.000 students are connected in 25 countries by 64 Local Groups. Besides work in committees, projects and initiatives, the ESTIEM core activity is organising over 80 events every year.

  4. Goal of ESTIEM Our goal is to establish and foster relations between students of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) across Europe and to support them in their personal and professional development.

Projects • Vision • Annual seminar series covering an IEM related topic • Combining academic content (trainings, workshops, company visits) with informal cultural activities • One exciting week of personal development, varied learning and unique fun in an ESTIEM city “Where else can you feel the energy and ideas of different people, working on a topic related to their studies and having plenty of fun together?” (Anna Korsch, Vision participant 2010)

Projects • TIMES • Tournament in Management and Engineering Skills • Case study competition with 3 rounds • Local Qualifications in each Local Group • 7 Semi-Finals in January and February • Final in March • 3 or 4 members per team • Jury: professionals and academicians • Winners are “IEM students of the year” “TIMES is a really good chance not only to apply the knowledge learnt at the university to real business cases, but also to learn how to work in a team and to make decisions under time pressure” (Moritz Wilke, IEM Student of 2010)

  22. ESTIEM Alumni • ESTIEM Alumni is a network of professionals who were formerly active in ESTIEM “Maintain an informal network between former IEM students and promote the position of IEM engineers in business.”

You will come closer to the culture of the country, and discover cities from a whole new perspective. Moreover, as we are all students, we make it as cheap as possible!

These activities are set in an intercultural context, where you will find that different mentalities challenge your way of thinking.
