If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about -- but not before God. What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." (Romans 4:1-3 NIV)

  5. Genesis 22:1 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. Compare to Adam’s response: Genesis 3:8-10 8 They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

  6. Genesis 22:1 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. 2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”

  7. Genesis 22:7-8 7And Isaac spoke unto Abraham his father and said…….. “Behold the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” 8 And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering.”
