Goals & Expectations • Respect and follow the school policies, classroom rules & procedures. • Begin work promptly & complete all activities on or before due date. • Work independently and be cooperative with classmates whenever assigned to do group work. • Obey teacher's instruction the first time they are given.

  3. Classroom Rules • Be nice and respectful to all. • Be organized & prepared for class. (with paper, pencil, notebook & book) • Be an engaged learner, stay on task. • Do not interrupt other students’ learning. • Follow directions. • Absolutely no gum, food or electronic device permitted. • Keep hands, feet & object to yourself.

  4. Rewards • Positive messages sent to parent via connect-ed. • Given extra time to complete class work. • Less problems for class work/homework. • One day free of CW/HW • A grade of E for cooperation

Course Requirements • Textbook/work book • Notebook -New vocabulary -2 or 3 sample problems per topic taken - Agenda (can be printed from MAHS website) - NBAs (Notebook activities) - CST review problems • CW/HW given 2 to 3 times a week • Tests (weekly/chapter test) , Midterm exam, Final exam • Project/group work activities

  7. Algebra 2AB Course Description: Algebra 2 complements and expands the mathematical content and concepts of Algebra 1 and Geometry. New concepts and techniques are introduced that will be basic to more advanced courses in mathematics and the sciences and useful in the workplace. In general terms, the emphasis is on abstract thinking skills, the function concept, and the algebraic solution of problems in various content areas. Students who master Algebra 2 will gain experience with algebraic solutions of problems in various content areas including the solution of systems of quadratic equations, logarithmic and exponential functions, the binomial theorem and the complex number system.
