  2. The Land • Jordan is a Southwest Asian country • Jordan consists of arid forest plateau in the east irrigated by oasis and seasonal water streams

  3. Land Cont. • The highest point in the country is Jabal Ram • The Great Rift Valley of the Jordan River separates Jordan, the west bank and Israel. • Jordan’s Natural Resources are Phosphates, Potash, and Shale Oil

  4. Climate/Vegetation • The climate is very rainy from November to march and semi dry weather for the rest of the year. • Some of the animals are Caracal Persian Lynx), Red Fox, Hare, Golden Jackal, and Arabian Oryx.

  5. Governments • Their government is a constitutional monarchy • The king is Abdullah • The Prime minister is Nader al-Dahabi • The population is 6.1 million • Life expectancy is 71 years for men and for women is 74

  6. History and Current Events • The Kingdom of Petra, was founded by the Nabataeans • Muslim is facing time in Jordan. He moved and could be sent back to Jordan and tortured. They think he was 'Osama Bin Laden's right hand man in Europe.

  7. Economy • Exports of light manufactured products, garments • Education and literacy rates and measures of social well-being are very high compared to other countries with similar incomes. • Jordan's currency is Jordanian dinar (JOD)
