  1. Solar System The Eight Planets and Other Objects

  2. Mercury • The smallest planet • Largest temperature fluctuations • Planet closest to the sun • Heavily cratered

  3. Venus • The Second planet from the Sun • Named after the Roman Goddess of Love! • Very hot temperatures

  4. Earth • AKA Home! • Third planet from the sun. • Only planet known to sustain various forms of life.

  5. Mars • Fourth planet from the sun • The only other planet we have landed on and looked around (rover) • No other life forms have been found

  6. Jupiter • The largest planet in the solar system • The fifth planet from the sun • It has more moons than any other planet.

  7. Saturn • Famous for its beautiful gaseous rings! • The 6th planet from the sun.

  8. Uranus • The 7th planet from the sun • Doomed to endure relentless punning and other forms of negative remarks because of its unfortunate name.

  9. Neptune • The 8th and final planet • This planet shines blue in all of its picture • This planet is freaking cold and takes hundreds of years to revolve around the sun. • This is my favorite planet.

  10. Other Objects • Moons: these little guys orbit around the planets. • Asteroids: aka shooting stars • Meteors: good because they stay in space • Meteorites: bad because they land on earth.
