  6. General Objective To test the Port Facility’s security staff response to the activation of the Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) on board a ship alongside

  7. Specific Objectives • To test the response of security staff to the notification of an attack on board a ship alongside • To validate the procedures for the response to an intrusion or attack on board a ship alongside • To raise the awareness of the threat of intrusion into a ship alongside the Port Facility

  8. Required Attainments • Security staff will be able to: • Recognise the various means by which an activation of the SSAS from a ship alongside may be communicated to the Port Facility • Apply the procedures in the Port Facility security instructions to respond to an intrusion or attack on board a ship alongside • Recognise the threat from within port waters
