  3. 2) How do each of these types of twins form? • Identical • zygote (fertilized egg) divides and separates to become two people. • genetically identical • Fraternal • 2 eggs fertilized by 2 sperm • like normal brother and sister • Conjoined • zygote divides and begins to separate, but cells entangle / grow together.

  4. 3) Is it possible to have conjoined twins where one is a boy and the other is a girl? • No – they can ONLY be identical twins.
