  2. Wilson’s 14 Points • Plan to end World War’s from happening • Called for an end to secret treaties and reduced military • Allies discarded this plan

  3. Paris Peace Conference • U.S goals: • Not to win land or money • Establish an agency where countries could work together peacefully • Allied Goals • Wanted land • Money • Livestock • Goods • German territories

  4. Wilson Compromise’s • Wilson allowed them to take over German colonies in Africa, China, and the Pacific

  5. League of Nations • Organization in which nations of the world would join together to ensure security • The heart of the proposal was Article Ten • Pledged that an attack on one member is an attack on all members • Passed by the allies, but was unpopular in the U.S.

  6. Peace Treaty New Europe Reparations and Guilt Demand that Germany pay 33 billion dollars to the allies and take blame for war. This was an attempt to crush Germany Germany would not forget this humiliation • Ottoman Empire reduced in size, becomes Turkey • Britain takes Iraq and Palestine • France takes Syria and Lebanon

  7. Economic Upturn • European countries owed the U.S 11.5 billion dollars from war • U.S takes over Britain as world’s largest creditor nation • However, there would be a problem as the military returns home
