  1. Vocabulary 19: Sleepiness and Laziness By Mister Snead

  2. dilatory The student DILATORILY flattened his mom’s tire in an effort to miss the conference

  3. languid Sparks always wondered where Ramos was on the days his walker didn’t come. He sat around LANGUID and thought about his favorite person.

  4. lethargy We all experience LETHARGY at times. What can you say about the reasons this guy is lethargic.

  5. Melancholy Detective Ramos was in a MELANCHOLY mood coming into the evening. Why would she just up and leave like that? The ice trays? What kind of sad sack takes an ice tray?

  6. quiescent Detective Masters is almost never QUIESCENT. It’s sure to be a bad day for crime when he is.

  7. repose Ramos, being done with the case, was able to sit back in REPOSE.

  8. sloth Ummm… look at this animal. I think you have a good idea of what SLOTH means now.

  9. somnambulate When I get home from school I usually SOMNAMBULATE before starting my homework.

  10. Soporific The honey dipped melodies that wafted to Detective Ramos’ ears had a SOPORIFIC effect on him. Nothing that coffee can’t handle, he thought, but it sure would be nice to float away on those tunes.

  11. stupor As she ran through the forest the stings from tracker jackets put her into a STUPOR.
