  20. Observational Drawing Gesture drawings are fast, rather “messy” drawings, without detail, that show the “movement”, basic shape, size and proportion of the subject being drawn. Contour drawings are slow, continuous line drawings that seem to “touch the edges of the subject. “Blind” contour drawings are also slow, continuous line drawings that are done without looking at the drawing at all, but only at the subject.   23. Color Mixing Hue = Color Intensity: how bright or dull a color is. (Intensity of a color can be adjusted using compliments or opposites) Value: how light or dark a color is.   25. Color Schemes Analogous or harmonious colors: colors that are next to each other on the color wheel (think warm and cool). Complementarycolors: colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel. Neutrals are made from mixing complementary colors together.
