I-94 North-South Corridor Project • Spans Milwaukee, Racine, & Kenosha counties (35 Miles) • Construction between 2008-2021 • On schedule, under budget • 51 lets remaining: Remaining Project Types 17 Frontage 20 Mainline 7 Interchange 7 Other Work by Year CY13 $32M CY14 $29M CY15 None CY16 Work resumes Remaining Let Estimates 38 at < $10M 8 at $10-20M 4 at $20-$50M 1 at > $50M+

  4. USH41 - Winnebago County • Work continues in 2013 on • Lake Butte des Morts Causeway • US 41 mainline from US 45 to Breezewood Lane • 2013 and beyond • 8 remaining contracts = $15M total • Planned completion - 2016

USH 41 - Brown County • Projected for 2013 & beyond • 22 remaining construction contracts = $284 million total • 2013 work: • 15 contracts totaling $200 - $240M • Reconstruction - $140-$170 million • Early Structure/Fill - $50-70 million • Other $5 million 5 Interchanges in 2013 include Oneida, WI 172, WIS 29, I-43, and Velp

US 10/WIS 441 Tri-County Expansion • Cold Spring Road to Oneida Street • - 5-mile segment of Appleton Urban Area Beltline • Facility Reconstruction and 4 to 6 lanes expansion • $415 million current budget • Construction start planned in 2014 (16)* *Current 2011-13 Budget (Proposed 2013-15 Budget)

  9. WIS 15 Outagamie County • US 45 to Lilly of the Valley Road (10.5 miles) • Connection from US 45 to the Appleton metropolitan area • 2 to 4 lane expansion • 2016 (17)* - $43 million • 2017 (18)* - $52 million *Current 2011-13 Budget (Proposed 2013-15 Budget)

WIS 38 (Howell Ave.) • Milwaukee & Racine Counties: Oakwood Rd. to CTH K (9.0 Miles) • Reconstruction: capacity expansion and realignment • Data gathering/investigation resulted in 34 different alternatives • Completed first screening to reduce down to 9 alternatives • PAC/PIMs with stakeholders and Public continue through Spring 2013 • Complete EA/FONSI - Summer 2013 • Right of Way Plat- FY2015 • Real Estate Acquisition-FY2015 -FY2017 • Utility Relocation- FY2018 - FY2019 • Construction-FY2020 -FY2022 $125 million total project budget (Design, R/E, Utilities, Construction)

  11. I-794 Hoan Bridge • Preliminary Design – Nov 2011 • Env. Doc/60% Completion – July 3, 2012 • Plans Due – May 1, 2013 • 1st Let – Aug 27, 2013 • Construction: • Eastbound: Fall 2013 – Dec 2014 • Westbound: Jan 2015 – Dec 2015 • Bridge Painting: 2016 – 2018 • Construction Estimate = $278 Million

Verona Road (US 18/151) reconstruction • County PD to Seminole Highway, Dane County • (3.0 miles) • Total Budget: $177 million • 2014 (15)* Lets • $ 65 million for Stage 1 Verona Road and Beltline • 2015 (16)* Lets • $1 million for Stage 1 Verona Road and Beltline • 2016 (17)* Lets • $10 million for Stage 2 Verona Road *Current 2011-13 Budget (Proposed 2013-15 Budget)

I-94 NW Corridor Study Study Limits from USH 12 to STH 65 St. Croix County • Need and safety: • Replacedeteriorating pavement • Reduce congestion and high crash rates • Four to Six lane expansion • Replace 4 bridges: • East & west-bound Kinney Rd • East & west-bound Twin Lake Rd • Milestones: • Jan 2012 Solicitation & NOI Fed Register • Oct 2012 Initial LOM on alternatives • Jan 2013 Initial PIM on alternatives • Spring/Sumer 2013 Final PIMs • Fall 2013 Final ROD Note: STH 65 and USH12 Interchanges at project termini are or will be reconstructed to 6-lane configurations prior to completion of this study

I-39/90/94 North Corridor Study • Wisconsin Dells to Madison • Two separate Environmental Impact Statements • WI Dells to Portage (I-39/90/94 Int) • EIS examining roadway upgrades including expansion • Estimated ROD – 2017/2018 • Madison to Portage • 2 Phases: TIA, then EIS • TIA Completion - 2014 • EIS examining roadway upgrades and including expansion • Estimated ROD – 2019/2020

I-94 East West Freeway Study Study limits: West: 70th St. East: 25th St. • Need and safety: • Replace deteriorating pavement and bridges • Reduce congestion and high crash rates • Provide efficient freeway operations • Improve or reconfigure five service interchanges and one system interchange • Corridor Study schedule: • Summer 2013: Identify recommended alternative • Fall 2013: Draft EIS and Public Hearing • Fall 2014: Final EIS/ROD

USH 51 Stoughton Road Study • 11 Mile corridor from the Madison Beltline north to WIS 19, Deforest • EIS examines capacity expansion & intersection upgrades including new interchanges • DEIS-March,2013 • Replaces deteriorating pavement, address high crash rates, reduces significant congestion • Fall 2014 Final EIS/ROD

I-43 N-S Freeway Corridor Study North Limit: STH 60 Silver Spring Dr. to STH 60, 14.1 Miles • Study to evaluate: • Replace deteriorating pavement and structures • Reduce congestion, improve freeway operations & safety • Improve or reconfigure 6 interchanges • Potential for new interchange at Highland Rd • Design alternatives wouldn’t preclude capacity expansion • Milestones: • Spring 2012 Publish Notice of Intent in Fed Register • February 2014 Public Hearing • August 2014 Final EIS/ROD • Construction 2 to 4 years depending on selected alternative South Limit: Silver Spring Dr.

USH 12 Madison Beltline Study • 20 Mile corridor from USH14, Middleton to CTH N, Town of Cottage Grove • Phase 1 • Origin – Destination (O/D) and Planning & Environmental Linkages (PEL) Studies • Completed Report 2013 & 2015 • Phase 2 • Environmental Impact Statement • Contract 2014/2015 • Est. completion of ROD 2018/2019 • Primary Issues: Level of Service, Safety, Mobility and Aging Pavement and Bridges

  19. DTSD Lean Government Initiative GOAL: Close out project finals within 6 months of completed work. WHY: • allows contractors to get their final payments in a timely manner • allows the department to liquidate unneeded funding and re-direct it to other projects Kaizen workshop held in January 2013. Identified areas to focus on to eliminate steps in the process that do not add value.
