  2. Class Goals Students will…. • Understand and appreciate their own relationship with the environment. • Be able to take an informed stance on a wide range of environmental issues and understand how they are affecting societies.

  3. Syllabus Outline

Labs • Labs are their Internal Assessment…..what is sent out to be a part of their overall IB grade. • 80% of their IB grade is from the test in May and 20% is from their labs…..they are VERY important! • If they do not turn in their labs, then they cannot sit for the exam in May. • Therefore, if their labs are even one day late, their lab grade starts at a 50%. They will then have one week to turn them in for class credit.

Sea Camp • Newfound Harbor Marine Institute on Big Pine Key, FL and Billy’s Swamp Safari in the Everglades over part of Spring Break. • Snorkeling, exploring a Mangrove Island, algae labs, finding nocturnal marine animals, and exploring the everglades on huge buggies and fan boat rides • Trip will be around $1,000, which includes everything.
