  4. The Brothers in Egypt • His brothers traveled to Egypt to buy grain. • The brothers did not recognize Joseph. • Why didn’t they recognize him?

  5. Joseph’s Plan • Joseph had tricked his brothers into bringing Benjamin. • Joseph’s silver cup was discovered in Benjamin’s sack of grain. • Benjamin was going to have to remain in Egypt.

  6. Judah Pleads For Benjamin • If anything happened to Benjamin, their father Jacob would die. • Judah begged to be a replacement for Benjamin. • He could not see his father without Benjamin.

  7. Joseph Has Enough • Joseph ordered the Egyptians out of the room. • What do you think the brothers were feeling or thinking? • What the brothers feared never came.

  8. Joseph Reveals Him • Joseph said, “I’m your long lost brother! I am Joseph!” • He asks about his father. • The brothers could not believe what they just heard.

  9. Genesis 45:5-7 But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life. For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

  10. Joseph Understands • It was God that sent him to save their lives. • God had set up Joseph pretty good so that he could take care of his family. • Joseph asked his brothers to bring their father Jacob to Egypt.

  11. Jacob Sees Joseph • The brothers went back to the land of Canaan • Packed up Jacob and their families and returned back to Egypt. • There was a big reunion between Joseph and Jacob.

  12. Learning From Joseph • Joseph had a lot of hard times. • But God was still in control. • When we all go through hard times, God will work us too!

  14. Luke 6:35 • "Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.“ • Yeshua taught us to show mercy and forgive others when they have done bad things to us.
