The Poseidon Adventure

The Poseidon Adventure is a adventure novel by Paul Gallico. The SS Poseidon was on its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic with a month long Christmas voyage from Africa to South America. On December 26, the Poseidon is overturned because of an under sea earthquake. The book follows the survivors as they make their way to the steel hole of the ship.

Paul Gallico:

Author Paul William Gallico was born on July 26, 1897 in New York City. Gallico is a American novelist, who writes short stories and sports stories. He is probably known best for his novel The Snow Goose and for his latest published novel The Poseidon Adventure.

President Richard Milhous Nixon was born January 9, 1913 in Yorba Linda, California and is currently serving as the 37th President of the United States. Nixon has previously served as a US representative and senator from California and as a 36th Vice President of the United States from 1953 to 1961. President Nixon served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Pacific War as a Lieutenant Commander. When President Nixon took office, war with Vietnam was outrageous, about three hundred American soldiers were dying each week. By the middle of this year the President began to negotiate peace with North Vietnam. About the time Nixon took office the inflation was at the highest its been sine the Korean War, 4.7 percent. His main goal is to reduce the inflation and put an end to the Vietnam War.

Major League Baseball sensation, Harmon Clayton Killebrew was born June 29,1936 , in Payette, Idaho. Harmon Killebrew made his Major League Baseball debut on June 23, 1954 for the Washington Senators. Killebrew is currently playing for Minnesota Twins as a first baseman, third baseman and left fielder. After rupturing his left medial hamstring last year and enduring seven months of rehabilitation, Harmon Killebrew bounced back. This year was by far his best year in the majors. Harmon Killebrew set a career- high of seven runs batted in ( RBI ) in one game against the Oakland Athletics on September 7. Killebrew hit a three-run homerun and a grand slam to achieve the seven runs. Also this season Killebrew set a career high in runs, walks and on-base percentage. He has tied his career high of forty nine homeruns and Killebrew achieved eight of his nineteen stolen bases. Harmon Killebrew has achieved the Most Valuable Player Award.
