Characteristic of JF Kennedy • Innovative • Magnetic • Family Man • Visionary • Ambitious • Passionate and hardworking
Innovative • The Self-Selected Candidate • Kennedy ushered in an era of successful presidential candidates who weren't anointed by the party establishment — they chose to put themselves forward as presidential candidates. After Kennedy's 1960 run, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama all followed his model of elbowing aside other candidates with seemingly more claim to their party's nomination.
Family Man • JF Keneddy was a family man which can be seen in the reading we got in the class. • Quote- “There was a pre-school, a swimming pool, and a tree house outside on the white house lawn, President Kennedy Was probably the busiest man in the country but he still found time to laugh and play with his children.
Visionary • JFK was visionary. He wasted USA to lead the way in exploring the space. Kennedy was determined to catch up with the soviet union • Quote: No Nation which expects to be the leader of other nations can expect to stay behind in this race of space.
Ambitious • JFK was ambitious about something and wanted to archive it. In his speech he said “One hundred years of delay have passed since president lincon freed the slaves, yet their heirs, their grandson, are not fully free” • He wanted to end racism completely
Magnetic • As an effective leader, JF Kennedy was very magnetic. He had many qualities such as explained before, visionary, ambitious, etc which made him attracted to people. • But for him he was a magnet because of his aim. Like a magnet attract things towards it, JFK wanted nation to come closer to each other. Whether be it black or white he wanted unity of diversity.
