Letter C Phonics Focus Assessment | Third Grade Spelling Week Sixteen

This week, students will be working on mastering the hard /k/ sound of 'c' when combined with 'a', 'o', or 'u' in words like bacon, taco, cabin, cuddle, and candle. In addition to the five focus words, they will also learn and apply five bonus words related to the same phonics rule. It's crucial for students to grasp the concept rather than just memorize words. Practice the words listed and the Word Wall Words: vacation, can’t, discover, our, independent. Check the Spelling Choice Menu or the Third Grade Website for activities. Encourage students to craft a "third grade sentence" using a spelling word and one dictation sentence for Friday's assessment.
