  5. “The Great Arsenal of Democracy” • FDR- “No man can tame a tiger by stroking it” • Referring to Hitler • Lend Lease Plan- the US can lend or lease arms and other supplies to “any country whose defense was vital to the US

  6. US uses Lend Lease Act to help USSR(Stalin) • “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” • Germany sends U-Boats to stop supplies by using the “Wolf Packs”

  7. Germany sinks 350, 000 tons of supplies in one month • FDR allows self defense • Radar and sonar help
