  2. Final Exam • Time and Date: 10:00 AM – 12:50 PM on Monday, December 5, 2011. • Two hours and 50 minutes long. • No calculator or computer. Closed books and notes. • True/False, Multiple Choice, Word problems. • Comprehensive with emphasis on materials after Exam #2 or Power Point slides of Chapters 11 – 15 and the Introduction to Web Services. • The text book material of VoIP part of Chapter 14 slides can be found in Chapter 17 of the text book. • The web service slides can be found on WebCT.

  3. Chapters 1 – 5 • Chapter 1: career in IT • Chapter 2: bits (b) vs. byte (B) and their multiplicators. • Chapter 3: Binary representation of a decimal integer and float. Hexadecimal shorthand. • Chapter 4: Logic gates. CPU architecture. • Chapter 5: Low and high levels of programming languages. Compiled vs. interpreted language. Types of software.

  4. Chapters 6 – 10 • Chapter 6: Properties of pure sound wave. Sampling and quantizing a complex wave. • Chapter 7: Display and projector technologies. Packet switching. • How are LANs connected to form a WAN? • Access WAN thru leased line, DSL, Cable Modem, and WAN. • Internet is WAN.

Class A, B, and C of IP v4 address blocks and Classess address blocks. • Exhaustion of IP v4 address and Classless. • IP v6.

Discuss the functionalities of the services.
