Methodology

  • The survey instrument was designed to take 5 minutes, but could take longer depending on verbatim comments.
  • Three audiences were surveyed: students (7th-12th), all parent households, and all school employees.
    • Students = 760
    • Parents = 1,607
    • Employees = 279
  • Email invites with links to take the survey online were sent on October 6, 2008. The survey stayed open through October 17, 2008.
  • Response rates for each audience are as follows:
    • Students = 338 completes  44%
    • Parents = 447 completes  28%
    • Employees = 113 completes  41%
  • The total margin of error at the 95% confidence level for each audience is:
    • Students = +/-4.0%
    • Parents = +/-3.9%
    • Employees = +/-7.1%
