Why Reflective Practice? • To promote the development of reflection, critical thinking, analysis & questioning skills. • To assist professionals to reflect on the meaning of an interaction or a clinical experience. • To assist professionals to understand how to learn from experience, reflection & self-appraisal. • To assist s professionals assess strategies to promote professional growth & knowledge development. • To decrease the gap between theory and practice. • To induce thinking about the value of reflecting on and analyzing patient-nurse or nurse-nurse or nurse-other interactions. • To help professionals understand the importance of using evidence and theory to inform/guide practice decisions and actions. • To foster self-evaluation and commitment to continuous learning in professional nurses.   7. Assignment Your use of the iPad in the Nursing Scholarship (NURS 411) has challenged you in different ways. You may have developed new knowledge (cognitive level learning), new technical skills (psychomotor level learning) or new attitudes toward handheld technologies (affective level learning).You might have positive, negative or mixed feelings about the iPad. This final assignment is a reflective analysis. It is designed to help you identify, explore and analyze your individual views about the iPad. For instance, you might consider its utility as a decision support in Evidence Based Practice. This reflective analysis will give you an opportunity to: • reflect on your own personal feelings about the new knowledge, skills or attitude associated with the iPad use; • examine the relevance and usefulness of your new knowledge • apply critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning; • use a systematic, step-by-step approach to guide your thinking, reflecting and writing. • You are encouraged to consult with course instructor for help with content.
