  2. Overall DAQ system status • Individual component hardware and firmware exists at various stages of readiness : • ECAL DIF : prototype successful; production in progress; firmware being developed. • CCC : Custom board; hardware production done; firmware being developed; to be used by SPIDER collaboration? • LDA : Commercial board with add-on HDMI and Ethernet links; firmware advanced. • ODR : Commercial high performant I/O board; firmware and software done; integrated in DAQ PC with RAID array. • Working on integrating components (at UCL) : • Links (Gbit ethernet) between the LDA and ODR. • Links (synchronous, serial link with additional asynchronous pairs) between the DIF and LDA. • Generating data and sending across with some success. • Getting all components to the same stage of readiness. • Progress on use of DOOCS as DAQ software : advanced for controlling ODR; other components to proceed as their status becomes more final.

  3. Summary and issues • Within EUDET, to deliver working DAQ system by June 2009. • DAQ system for ECAL, AHCAL and DHCAL. • Doing link/system tests : debugging and improving. • No show-stoppers yet and on track for June 2009. • We have no STFC funding after 31 March 2009 and will live off EUDET money : • Have funds for all hardware procurement. • Have a busy few months integrating system with itself and the detectors. • To lead to a successful implementation of modern standards-based DAQ system with associated publication and technical notes. • Will then have to reduce effort drastically and have very little mandate for future effort. • UK DAQ lead position in ILC will be lost.
