Appointed positions • Publications Editor • Standing Chair positions • District Convention • Fall Training Conference • Kiwanis Family • Membership Development & Education • Service • Commonly-used annual chair positions • Awards • Technology • Configuration and assignments are the Governor’s discretion

  6. Lt. Governor’s Essential Duties • Club counselor • Recruitment and retention • Effective club programs • New clubs • Division leader • Voting Board member • Ambassador to Kiwanis Family counterparts

  7. Secretary’s Essential Duties • Counseling club secretaries • Completion of Monthly Report Forms • Summarizing data • Notices of meetings, agendas and minutes • Voting Board member

  8. Treasurer’s Essential Duties • Counsel club treasurers • Fundraising • Dues collection • Ensuring dues collection • Completion of rosters • Verification of dues status • District-wide fundraising activities • Voting Board member

  9. Governor’s Essential Duties • Chief executive officer of the District • Appointment and direction of District Chairpeople • Leading District Board meetings and events • Support and direction of District Board in pursuing District goals • Ambassador to Kiwanis Family • Ambassador to Circle K International • Voting Board member as Chair

  10. Time commitments • Events and activities – Critical Dates • Timing issues • Essential duties • Communications • Constituents • Kiwanis advisors • Visits • Other Kiwanis Family

Running for office • Campaign committee • Platform • Materials • Assistance with caucus and other strategies • No current District Board members or other Kiwanis family • Campaign Code of Ethics • Nomination • Paperwork required • Getting your name on the ballot • Endorsement for International office

Caucusing • Introduction of you • School, major and time in Circle K • Other relevant experience • Personal qualities • Your speech • Cogent statement of platform and vision • Avoid criticizing other candidates • Know your audience • Answering questions • Friday night • Second caucus Saturday morning for Governor, Secretary and Treasurer • Practice!
