Slow down vehicular traffic Improve pedestrian safety around the school Address traffic issues at OPB & Highland intersection Address traffic issues at OPB & Lincoln intersection Redesign 4th St. overpass Emphasize view from 4th St. overpass Provide gateways, landmarks and public art Emphasize environmental sustainability Provide more and better greenery Beautify Enhance bus stops Maintain & protect mural at Main St. and OPB Address flooding at 5th St.

    6. Approach A - develop OPB Task Force proposal - further existing OPB Task Force consensus - “OPB PLUS” Approach B - maximize median opportunities - minimize costs - “MEDIAN SUPREME” Approach C - maximize dedicated and separated bikeway opportunity - “BIKE HAVEN”

    7. Alternative A - OPB PLUS Maintains intent of OPB Plan Typical curb-to-curb width 46’-0” vs.. (e) 64’-0” Introduces parkways at curb and select medians Provides Class II 6’-0” In-street bicycle lane Maximizes parkways and eliminates median at 4th St. bridge to maximize view corridor to ocean Restricts left-turns at select locations

Alternative B - MEDIAN SUPREME Maximizes medians along entire length of OPB Maintains width of existing curb-to-curb right-of-way Enhances sidewalks with pavers and trees - no additional sidewalk width Introduces protected crosswalks at Highland & 7th - increased neighborhood to neighborhood connectivity Provides Class II 6’-0” in=street bicycle lane Restricts left turns at select locations
