2. Why change now • mail services were at end of life • Microsoft bid of $0.00 won the contract for the State. • Entire State is changing on same day.

3. Server structure • Ed275x3 - This week • Name server • Computer Cloud- After May 23, 2010 Server is at Microsoft, not in KY mail.kyschools.us

4. Old server • Old mail server is still there. • Can be accessed for 2 weeks – maybe longer. • We don’t have the directions yet. Will be posted. May be 3552.

5. All e-mail will be accessed through Webmail. Regardless of where you are, if you can access the Internet, you can access Webmail. • Live@edu is a very effective and efficient webmail interface.

7. E mail address remains the same • John.doe@jefferson.kyschools.us • No issues • To log onto Live@edu there is a field: Windows Users ID: = enter your Full email address

8. Password • Everyone has to have 6 characters or greater, LESS than 16.

9. Storage space on server • 10 GB - May increase 25 GB • Mail size = 20 mb • Attachment size = 10 mb • SkyDrive: Google Doc like, 25 gb

10. Calendars, Contacts and E-mail • Company hired to move data. It worked for small districts. • Calendars and Contacts will be migrated over. • JCPS: E-mail will take 300 + days to move.

11. Save your email • Export it • Save to hard drive • Print • Forward E-mail to another address

13. State Script • May be ran to change server address • May not work due to virus control

14. SPAM and Antivirus • Email is be filtered by Microsoft.

16. Log on to email • Full e-mail address must be entered in Windows ID field • Phones and other mobile device will need to be configured. • Directions will be posted to e-mail website.

17. Global List • Is available in webmail. • Very nice.

18. Distribution List. • May not be available on May 24. • All distribution list will be renamed. JCPS will be removed and replaced with Jefferson

28. OR The name will appear underlined in RED above the To: field. McCoy, Carolyn Reason: • The name is spelled incorrectly. • The name cannot be found • 2 or more people have that name.

29. More than One … • Click on the drop down menu. • Select the correct person • Double click on the verified name to view the properties.

30. What else can I do? • Delete the name and attempt again. Try entering first name last name. • The name could be mis-spelled. • A nickname may have been entered.

31. How do I Address an E-mail to More than One Person? Enter names, using a semi-colon to separate them. (Enter name, then semi-colon, then press the spacebar. Enter the next name….) • carolyn mccoy; doug reed; steve brown; donna bryant; Click the Check Name icon.

32. JCPS-xxx-all distribution list? • JCPS distribution list are being renamed. • They will become jefferson-xxx-all • May not be available on May 24, 2010
