  2. Propelled by a powerful vision, this document seeks to articulate how Unity Worldwide Ministries members and its supporters can inspire our Unity movement to greater levels of effectiveness, cohesiveness and prosperity in order to achieve our shared mission.

  3. Vision Possibility • A world transformed through shared spiritual awakening. • “As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake I shall be satisfied, beholding your likeness.” Psalm 17:15

  4. Mission Possibility • Advancing spiritual awakening and transformation through Unity, a positive path for spiritual living. • “And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.” II Corinthians 3:18

Unity’s Purpose Statement • UWM board, staff, regional leaders, and those who serve on the many UWM ministry teams and committees, make Unity Worldwide Ministries a cohesive, responsive, dynamic, and inspirational organization providing leadership, continuity and guidance for the Unity movement.

Unity’s Purpose Statement Continued • We inspire, connect, organize, mobilize, utilize, serve, and support our excellent pool of talent, wisdom, and creativity to awaken humanity to the divine presence within and to express the power of this awakened consciousness, individually and collectively, in transforming the world.

  7. The UWM Key Components Include: • Membership - The core purpose for the membership of UWM is to teach and embody Unity’s spiritual principles resulting in conscious, intentional, abundant, healthy living as individuals and communities. As leaders, we provide positive, practical, spiritual tools and compassionate support for spiritual awakening and transformation in the world. We are grateful for the diverse population within our communities and the many gifts each person brings forth to accomplish our mission.

  8. The UWM Key Components Include: • Board of Trustees - The core purpose of the board of trustees for Unity Worldwide Ministries is to: • cast a vision for the future of UWM, • ensure the fiscal strength of UWM, • promote prosperity for its members and • oversee the governance of UWM.

The UWM Key Components Include: • Staff and UWM Field Leadership - The staff of UWM, its many volunteers, and those working in the regions find effective, efficient, inspirational, and innovative ways to deliver the services UWM commits in support of its members. This includes gathering and lovingly responding to feedback and making adjustments as needed for the purpose of advancing spiritual awakening and transformation through Unity, a positive path for spiritual living.

  11. Intention 1 • We are responsive to the changing needs of an evolving world. Anchored in prayer, and guided by Divine Wisdom, we research and implement new initiatives that advance spiritual awakening and transformation in Unity communities and centers around the world.

  12. Goals • 1. Develop Unity groups in ways that are in sync with our changing culture, i.e.: • Innovative alternative ministries • Multicultural, multigenerational ministries • Satellite ministries • “Circuit Rider” ministries • Campus ministries • Model pilot ministries

  13. Goals • 2. Leverage our presence through branding and innovative marketing that capitalizes on our inherent and timely strengths. (Small-size communities are part of future trends.) • UWM YouTube lessons featuring our Unity leaders • Marketing campaign that showcases the benefits of small ministries

Provide ministry opportunities/services from UWM as an organization, i.e.: • UWM-sponsored multigenerational national and international spiritual social action • Create pastoral support network for our Unity leaders everywhere • Consistent delivery of products and services for full-spectrum support to credentialed leaders and ministries via centrally-trained consultants • Increased focus on development of thriving youth and family ministry programs as a vital and inherent part of the whole

  15. Intention 2 • We are committed to manifesting our core values. Trusting in divine order and the harmonizing power of love, we strengthen UWM’s organizational integrity and accountability.

  16. Goals • 1. Implement and monitor policies that facilitate healthy ministry operations and maintain the integrity of Unity Worldwide Ministries. • Credentialed Unity leaders for Unity communities • Reorganize UWM recommended bylaws to reflect multiple prototypes for Unity ministries • Amend UWM bylaws regarding regions to create strong, effective, efficient, consistent communication, collaboration and coordination for mutual benefit of all aspects of the Unity movement

  17. Goals • 2. Create clarity regarding UWM membership; create a stable and sustainable financial base from which to serve our members and accomplish our mission. • Present for vote of the convention body in 2014 amendments to our articles of incorporation and bylaws permitting assessments as approved by membership at annual meeting • Present for vote of the convention body in 2014 an Annual Support Policy detailing procedures for implementing assessments, benefits of membership and responsibilities

Goals continued • Gather statistical data from membership and provide regular, meaningful reports concerning trends, demographics, UWM financial status, level of membership participation, etc. • Continue to develop strategies and practices that heighten our effectiveness and efficiency and enhance our unity.

  19. Intention 3 • Our Unity leaders and communities are generous, resilient, and resourceful. We joyfully serve God through quality involvement with our local and global communities. We, as Unity, advance spiritual awakening and transformation of human consciousness through our embodiment of spiritual principles. Serving others, the activity of Spirit is vibrant within us; a river of life flowing through us.

  20. Goals • 1. UWM sponsored multigenerational, national and international, spiritual social action. • Identify spiritual social action ministries and create databank for networking • Identify organizations for collaborative work and create connections • Train Unity participants regarding spiritually inspired social action • Organize annual Unity-specific opportunities with national and/or international focus. • Connect international mentoring/partners with U.S. national communities

  21. Goals • 2. Collaboration with other New Thought organizations. • 3. Collaboration with Interfaith organizations. • “Let all that you do be done in love.” I Corinthians 16:14

Evidence of Success • Demonstrated emotional and spiritual maturity • Greater participation in our spiritual centers throughout the world • Greater participation from members in the work of UWM • Greater sense of wellbeing in our individual lives, ministries and organization • Greater awareness of increased prosperity • Increased cooperation

Evidence of Success • Increased innovation and co-creation • Decreased number of ethical violations and peer reviews • Greater impact and visibility in the world • Increased participation of young adults • Growth in the number of spiritual centers and people attending those centers • Unity leaders are sought after and recognized for their contributions to transform lives
