  2. In 2008 God gave us a new vision . . . • Our mission: • TPC exists to be a worshipping community • that proclaims • the Gospel of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ • through word and deed • to our suburban communities and the world.

  6. Credo Series taught our Vision Synopsis Acts: Missional Community Sought greater relational & emotional maturity thru E.H.S. Over 50% of members seek gospel relationships in small groups Started 5 new small groups Craven/Dexter, Gage, Freeman, Gabriel, Quidatano Fall Festival had 130 visitors! VBS had 130 kids Launched Explorer Kids, PrimeTime Kids, Joyful Noise: 65+ kids this winter. Financial Peace: 33 family units attended, 8 from outside Launched new TPC website Began Chinese outreach ministry Helped Frisco church plant 3 Missions trips to Mexico and China We started with community & outreach 2008 2009Community Outreach

Blessed in Worship & Music Arts • Growth in both number of singers and their choral skills during 2009, enabling choir to reach for a high music goal by performing “Messiah” at Christmas. • Joyful Noise Children’s Choir • Continued growth in church instrumentalists who contribute to the ministry of music • string bass, guitar, flute and recorder, French Horn, saxophone, cello, viola, harmonica and bagpipe! • Anthems by Mendelssohn, Bach, Mozart, Handel,  Dvorak, Grieg, and Haydn

  9. Goal: . . . And God added to our number! • Added 49 members • 17 baptisms • Avg attendance of 304 since 7/1/09. • Avg attendance of 323 since 12/1/09. • At worship capacity! Reach suburbs with Gospel Strategy Adopted in 2002: Grow to 700-800 in worship, then focus on church planting.

  10. Our 2008-2009 Ministry Plan… …had five major priorities: • Community • Mission • Children • Staff • Facilities These priorities continue into 2010 with more specific focus…

  11. Grow in Mission –Globally & Locally Grow in Family Ministries Grow in Capacity by Eliminating Debt First Our 2010 Ministry Plan will focus on 3 major initiatives: 2010 – Grow in breadth, depth & capacity. . . UPDATE

  12. Goal: Increase 2010 global missions budget by $12,000 Give $35K to Mission from 2009 Surplus New support: Michael Craven Richey Goodrich China Partnership Redeemer Seminary Grow in Missions Expand reach of global missions

Grow in Local Outreach • Began Widow’s Support Group • Held 3 Intro to TPC Classes – 49 people • Financial Peace University – 33 family units, 8 outside • Operation Christmas Child - 113 shoeboxes • Fall Festival Outreach – 130 visitors • Diaconate Mercy Team gave $39K. • Gave $1500 to Food Pantry at Tgiving • Angel Tree – 13 fams • Improved new member process

  14. Goal: Develop Membership Outreach Develop Mercy Team Outreach Extend Reach of Assimilation Team Grow in Local Outreach Reach Plano in Word & Deed

Grow in Local Outreach • Outreach liaison from every Small Group • Start new Small Groups with primary outreach focus • Grow Wednesday night outreach strategy • Expand Diaconate Mercy Team to include laity • Expand Mercy Team to partner with local ministries • Establish permanent greeter system • Teach on evangelism

Grow Family Ministries • Began Explorer Kids • Began Prime Time Kids • Began Joyful Noises Children’s Choir • 3 youth retreats per year • 130 kids at 2009 VBS • 50 kids in Youth • 2 Youth Camps (HS/MS) • 92 children in Children’s Ministry • 33 nursery aged kids • 36 avg attendance in Celebration Chapel

  18. Goal: 1. Eliminate Debt Now Corporate Debt Personal Debt Grow the Grace of Giving 2. Make Room Now Face Tough Choices 3. Build Next Phase of Master Plan Fellowship Hall, Cooking Kitchen, Classrooms, Offices Grow in Capacity Prepare to grow & eliminate our debt

Step 1: Eliminate Debt Now • Eliminate church debt so we can move into the future • $350K as of Nov 09 • $27K given in Dec • $323K on 1/24/10 • That’s $2,584 per giving unit in the church. • $5K/mo  Future Needs • Free to Focus on Future and Grow!!! • Eliminate personal debt for greater freedom & generosity • Financial Peace University • Seek Lordship of Christ over area of finances • Seek blessings for families • Unlock resources for Kingdom

Step 2: Make Room Now OR Two Services 8:30 – 9:30 Worship 9:40 – 10:30 SS 10:45 – 12:00 Worship • Pro: Make room now, no additional capital costs • Con: we lose ‘one body, one worship’ unity Break Down Walls • One worship service • Expanded seats • Pro’s: Maintain unity of worship • Con’s: • Loss of 4 rooms • Capital costs from $96K to $1.67m. • Additional costs to replace rooms

Two Services? • Embrace the sacrifice of two services now. • Grieve the loss of “one service, one body” • Celebrate the gain of reaching more people & pray for fruit • Recommit to unity of worship in both services • Count the costs for lay leaders, staff & budget • Seek a launch team for first service • Belief is that Sunday School will benefit • This provides a clear, sequential plan to eliminate debt now, reach more people now, and continue 5 phase Master Plan.

Step 3: Build New Building • Freedom from debt enables us to move forward without controversy or guilt • Every $ given goes to LT (not ST) solutions • Raise substantial amount in cash beforehand • Imagine this: • 3 story building • First floor is large Fellowship Hall with cooking Kitchen • Second/Third floors for education space and/or office space • Break down all walls of sanctuary at this time

  23. Step 4: Sanctuary Overhaul • Break down front wall of sanctuary • Push sanctuary farther north • Remodel front of sanctuary with beautiful, worshipful appearance • Achieve final Master Plan goal of 700-800 seats in worship. • Congregation worships in Fellowship Hall during renovation. • Goal is one service.
