  27. ESSEC Business School • ESSEC Business School educates leaders for both the business world and the public sector, and it has done so since 1907. Its roots and private character give the whole institution an intrinsic commitment to innovation and humanism.Innovation: ESSEC has been, and is today, at the cutting edge of many key issues of business and management education. While the integrated MBA remains the institution's flagship, our faculty has created 17 Master of Science and 2 sectorial MBA programs that are directly related to their research areas. Thus knowledge, know-how and attitudes developed in research work are transferred very rapidly to education for several audiences, trained as either generalists or specialists. We give wide freedom and responsibility to all our students to customize their programs, and they can choose from the nearly two hundred electives we offer. These opportunities widen their options, forcing them to think about future choices and opening their minds to many possibilities. We have recently created a completely new track, the integrated MBA, based on our 10-year experience of apprenticeship: the demanding experiences offered by apprenticeship accelerate the maturity of young students when they are accompanied by professional mentors and professor-tutors.We have developed a complete offer in entrepreuneurship, with a special track, an incubator, a bio-incubator (with the University of Medicine in Paris), and a business catalyst (with an engineering school) for high tech ventures. We launched the major annual French venture capital forum. Our integrated model of e-learning won us the biggest contract for executive education in Europe in recent years: re-engineering the culture of a major public company by retraining 7000 executives, among its 200 000 employees, within two years! In addition to creating new courses in Philosophy, Ethics, and Geopolitics, we are increasingly orienting ourselves as integrators of complex issues, and educators for integration. Over the past 40 years, ESSEC's tradition of social promotion has resulted in our giving considerable importance to executive education. With 16 degree programs covering the range from young managers of high potential (Executive MBA) to senior management, we meet professional needs for lifelong learning. Some 40 companies rely on us for specific, tailor-made programs.
