What is a Work Breakdown Structure ? • A work breakdown structure (WBS) is a model of the work to be performed in a project organized in a hierarchical structure. • The WBS is an important tool which helps to keep an overview of the project. • Work Breakdown Structure -Defines tasks and assign resources to those tasks • It forms the basis for organization and coordination in a project. • WBS element is nothing but a bucket where all the activities belonging to that particular part of the project are captured. 6

  7. Benefit of Work Breakdown Structure • Simplifying the project execution. • Defines the total scope of the project • Accurate and readable project organization. • Help to estimate the cost ,time, and risk.

  8. Customer Requirement • Report to show detailed cost(Actual, Budget, and Commitment). • Simple selection screen. • Hierarchical output displaying total cost at each header level. • Report output export into excel .

  9. Why not standard report S_ALR_87013558 • Complex selection screen • Report output not showing total at each header level. • No option for exporting the output to excel.

  10. Custom development of New Report • The custom report is developed in OO ABAP. • Table Involved AUFK,BKPF,PROJ,PRPS,COEP,COOI. • The output of the report is display in a hierarchical. • Here i used the global class ,CL_GUI_ALV_TREE , CL_GUI_TOOLBAR , CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER

  11. Challenges in this scenario/Report. • Define the flow of the report. • To gather all detail tables involve in it. • Creating The folder for each Wbs and its project. • Creating proper hierarchical order. • Display total at each header level.

Benefit of this Report • The output is vary simple and cleare to Understand. • Value of different field is calculated at each wbs and project level. • Simple Selection screen for user . • Report output export to excel. • Help in find out different cost at each header level. • Reduce the effort of calculating the total for each wbs. 12
