INSETA Learning Strategy (Continued) Mission • Holistic, integrated and structured learning strategy through a range of industry-customised programmes at all levels of employment (“Classroom to Boardroom”) • Partnership with employers, other stakeholders and education and training institutions/providers • Accelerate the development of current, new and potential employees especially at management and supervisory level (Special emphasis on designated groups) • Meet challenges of the new world of work in the South African political, economic and social environment

Objectives/Aims of ELDP and LAP • Intervention to accelerate the development of a pool of highly skilled decision-makers at middle and senior/executive levels across all sub-sectors of the industry, whilst addressing the Employment Equity profile of the industry • Compliments the existing training initiatives by industry by providing industry customised programmes • Building a leadership core in the industry • Targeting medium and smaller employers, which do not have the capacity or resources to implement such training interventions • Contribution to Black Economic Empowerment in the industry

Executive Leadership Development Programme (ELDP) • Objective • Improving executive and senior leadership skillsto understand and deal with current and emerging leadership and business issues • Target Group • Chief Executives, other executive and senior managers, and emerging executives • Programme Content • Strategic • Leadership and business issue driven • Case studies and examples from local and international insurance and financial services industry

ELDP (Continued) • Duration and Structure • 12 monthsmodular • Based on practical experience (Action learning oriented) • Overseas visit to Business School and selected industry employers • Qualification + Learnership • NQF level 8a • “Insurance & Investment Business Leadership/Administration” • Starting date • February 2003

Leadership Advancement Programme (LAP) • Objective • Improving broad leadership and management skills • Preparing middle managers for executive and senior management positions • Target Group • Middle and emerging managers • Programme content • Leadership at operational level (“Subject” driven) • Case studies and examples from local and international insurance and financial services industry

LAP (Continued) • Duration and Structure • 12 monthsmodular • Theory + individual assignments + final research project • Based on practical experience (Action learning oriented) • Qualification + Learnership • NQF level 6 • “Insurance & Investment Business Leadership/Administration” • Starting date • February 2003
