SPONGE • Grammar for Writing Workbook page 156 Exercise A, all • Ice climbing is a dangerous sport where climbers pull themselves up frozen waterfalls. • When the water was falling, it froze. • Climbers attach sharp pointed metal cleats to their boots and then they start up. • After the sun warms a frozen waterfall, it will give way under a climber.

Organizational Patterns • There are many different ways to organize your writing. • We will focus on: • Compare and Contrast- identify the similarities and differences between two or three topics • Problem and Solution- state a problem and suggest one or more solutions • Chronological order- in order of time • Logical Order- in the order that makes sense logically • Cause and Effect- identify the cause for something and what happened as a result
