  2. Lift Off Door Hinges • Reports of difficulty removing MF doors aboard TAVB’s • Looking into Lift-Off style hinges • Must be interchangeable with current hinges

  3. ECU Panel Latches • Reports of ECU panels separating for MF during transport • Technical Manuals to be updated to specify how to properly verify latches are secure • Looking into incorporating two quick release pins per panel for a positive lock

  4. ECU Panel Latches • What does the fleet presently do to secure ECU panel before shipping?

  5. MF Relief Valve • Reports of MF implosion(s) during air transport – is this an isolated issue? • MF’s have vents that are supposed to be opened before air transport • Looking into incorporating automatic breather

  6. Corrosion / Flooring • Reports of continuing MF corrosion issues • undercoating incorporated in new build MF’s during FY 98 contract (GSG serial #’s) • MFCS application of undercoating on MF’s built prior to FY 98 contract • rounding of edges / improved sealing incorporated in FY 94 contract • SEB 670 fleet sealing of Huck rivets • Are there differences in corrosion issues with MF’s delivered with improved sealing / undercoating from MF manufacturer and those with sealing / undercoating installed later?

Corrosion / Flooring • Lakehurst Materials Engineering Branch is investigating potential improvements to MF coatings / application • possible use of Rhinoliner like coatings for undercoating MF’s and MF flooring • what improvement / changes in flooring is desired? • what type / size of repairs is done with current flooring? • What are the current primary areas of corrosion?
