  3. What is the ASVAB? • No stress test! (There is no pass/fail) • Excellent “dress rehearsal” for the ACT, SAT and PSAT • Designed to be a career exploration and planning tool • Approved tool for Colorado’s Individual Career and Academic Plans • Helps identify skills and abilities for future educational or career paths: • Immediate employment after high school • Vocational education • College • Voluntary military enlistment

  14. Before you visit your local recruiter, be sure you meet the minimum qualifications for serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Some qualifications are required by all five services: • 1. You must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien. • 2. You must be at least 17 years old (17-year old applicants require parental consent). • 3. You must (with very few exceptions) have a high school diploma. • 4. You must pass a physical medical exam. • 5. Drug use, attendance, and charges and convictions are carefully weighed.
