  1. Alfonso Brooks International Producer and Founder of AfriKin. An INFJ-A recognized as a contemporary African and social entrepreneur experienced in the business of arts and culture, promoting a positive image of people of African origin. I use my voice to bring solutions as we undergo struggle and contemplative studies towards economic freedom. As Founder of AfriKin I create cultural connections through masterful artistry and meaningful conversations for more cohesive communities. I produce festivals that present cultural panoramas, highlighting the diverse and vibrant traditions of African diasporic art and culture. I believe in a new way of being, a new manner of seeing, as we share our Africanness as a basis of kinship. AfriKin signals what is next for civic and community engagement. The term AfriKin® is the fusion of two words -- “African and kinship. AfriKin in addition to being the name of a cohesive, contemporary and diverse cultural identity, is also the name of the platform that has been created to deliver content to this international community. The advancement and growth of AfriKin is fueled by the creation of authentic, cultural programming presented at workshops and festivals. With AfriKin I continue to highlight the role of art and culture in human development and enrichment. I focus on engagement and quality of care, re-branding the Black world's image to allow more strategic partnerships. I work to create opportunities for positive transformation through thought and action sustained by: academic articulations, aesthetic imaginations for the development of cultural industries. My work extends across both class and ethnic lines, a conceptual challenge as an opportunity for artists, scholars and supporters to dismantle systems of oppression and promote agency and representation for marginalized communities. Consideration for the necessity of mutual understanding amongst our diverse communities are central to the politics of AfriKin. As we renew fundamental values of what makes us human, AfriKin sketches a way of being human, in a global changing society. Universal values are the active ingredients for a move forward articulated through works of art that removes the barriers that divide us for the fostering of understanding, mutual respect in the 21st century. AfriKin builds on these to articulate a world as it should be. AfriKin aims at advancing social justice through education geared towards affecting how individuals can see themselves only through others. As humanity finds itself at a crossroads -- a place where what we have in common is far greater than what divides us, AfriKin highlights the need for necessary exchanges that cross the boundaries of race, class and sexual orientation. 2. I believe we, as humans, we are in a perpetual state of longing. Wanting, needing, craving. I also want more. I dream big. I have bold pursuits. I want to leave a legacy. And I work on it daily. I am here to help to advance the ingenuity and promise of people of African origin globally in a positive way. It is time to bridge the gap within racial equity in the world. For those that seek to fill urges with possessions and misguided experiences, I dare them to be different. I dare us to find a new way of being, a new manner of seeing. Remember the art of a people is the genesis to their freedom. May we never mistake the map for the territory.
