  7. SWC 2014 What is Base Pay Details? • Base Pay is the pre-tax annual salary of a member of staff as at census day. It does not include the annual amount of any additional payments or allowances • In other words, it is the annual salary that will be earned, based on the salary rate at the census date • Base Pay is not collected for staff paid by a daily rate

  9. SWC 2014 Base Pay Details in Census After creating new census, click “Calculate All Details” button and the box below will auto fill

  10. SWC 2014 SWC Posts for Teachers This needs to be changed before running SWC! Go to Tools>Staff>Pay Related Select your Teachers i.e. Teachers & Teachers Upper

  11. SWC 2014 SWC Posts for Teachers Go to Section 5: Posts, then select Classroom Teacher, and change the SWC Post appropriately

  12. SWC 2014 Vacancies Post Names Within the Census, There are new for Leading Practitioner, and two types of Classroom Teachers

  13. SWC 2014 Leading Practitioner Did you know? The Advanced Skills Teacher and Excellent Teacher pay scales have been superseded by Leading Practitioner

  14. SWC 2014 Qualification Code Change Old qualification “NVQ4” is now replaced by new code “NQF4”

  15. SWC 2014 New QTS Routes The QTS route is now included for all staff who have taken their first position since qualifying as a teacher, regardless of when they qualified

  19. SWC 2014 What is collected in SWC? • Basic Staff Details • Ethnicity • Disability • Qualifications • Absences • Contract Details • Occasional Teachers andThird Party Staff • Vacancies on Census Day

  20. Basic Staff Details Note: Eligible for SWR means they are on your school’s payroll SWC 2014

  22. SWC 2014 What Qualifications are collected? Fill in qualifications for all staff above Post A Level (NQF Level 4+)

SWC 2014 Absences • Absences only collected for Teachers and TA’s with contracts • All Schools absences are collected in the date range: 01/09/2013 - 31/08/2014 • All types of absences collected, except for training absences • All Absences must have an end date, except for maternity leave • NOT for agency, occasional teachers or other support staff • NOT for TA’s with a Service Agreement

  25. What defines Occasional Teachers and Third Party Staff? Occasional Teachers Supply teachers who are in the school on census day but not in regular service (i.eLESS than 28 days) Third Party Staff Support staff who are not directly employed by the school or local authority on census day (e.g. Other staff supply companies) who work more than 28 days SWC 2014

  26. What if a Supply Teachers works over 28 days? You can find this in a Personnel record, Underneath the contract details SWC 2014

  27. Occasional Teachers Fill in the count of teachers on census day SWC 2014

  28. Third Party Staff Add the job role of the staff by clicking “New” Enter in the number of staff on census day SWC 2014
