  2. Spouse Visa • If you would like to join your partner in the UK and they currently hold settled status, you can apply for something known as a Spouse Visa, Partner Visa, Fiance Visa or Unmarried Partner Visa. A Settlement Visa of this type allows you to live in the UK for up to 30 months, after which you may apply for a further extension of 30 months if you continue to meet the requirements. This can then lead to an application for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), which gives you permission to settle in the UK permanently(Settled Status).

  3. FianceVisa What do I need to know about the Fiance visa? If you are a Non-EEA fiancé or proposed civil partner of a British Citizen or a person with settled status in the UK, you will need to obtain a Fiancé Visa in order to travel to the UK and get married or undertake a civil partnership ceremony. Your application needs to be made outside of the UK and you will need to marry your fiancé or register your civil partnership within six months of your arrival. You may then apply to switch into the Spouse Visa or Civil Partner Visa category in order to stay in the UK.

  4. Civil Partner Visa UK What should I know about the Civil Partner Visa? If you are a Non-European national, your partner currently has settled status in the UK and you wish to join him/her you may be able to make an application for a Spouse Visa, Partner visa or an Unmarried Partner Visa. You would apply to enter or remain in the UK as the spouse/partner of a person with settled status, a British Citizen, refugee leave or humanitarian protection. If you are outside the UK, you will need to obtain the Visa before travelling. This visa is usually granted for up to 30 months, after which you will have the option to apply for a further 30 months, subject to meeting the requirements; eventually leading to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) which is permission to settle in the UK permanently.
