  4. RCCD Service Area • RCCD area: many competitors, relatively few roads, lots of unincorporated area • Typically 5% yearly population growth • Vs. Riverside County 4% • Vs. San Bernardino 2.6% • Orange County 1.4% • Los Angeles County 1.3% • California 1.5%

  5. Changes in RCCD Service Area • Last 15 years: Unincorporated area, Corona, Riverside City largest growers • Next 15 years: rate slows, but numbers continue to be large in unincorporated area, Moreno Valley and Riverside

  7. RCCD Service Area Diversity • Perris, Mira Loma and Colton are most Hispanic and youngest with lowest incomes • Corona and Norco have many working adults with higher incomes

  15. RCCD Student Population Changes • After 2001 jump, evening and part-time enrollment down in 2003 • Increased fees • Fewer high school offerings • After 2001, college going rate is lower, but it is steadily increasing

Implications of Changes of “Transfer Support” Sections and Enrollments • McIntyre states: • “course sections in …’transfer support’ disciplines have been added at about four times the rate of added enrollments” • “Transfer support” disciplines at RCCD do not offer diplomas or certificates, though many of the courses are taken by students preparing for the workforce and seeking degrees and certificates, as well as by those preparing for transfer. • Please see Chart I of the Internal Scan for discipline-specific information.

Workforce Programs • “Small” in business, RN, construction supervisor, culinary and auto tech • “Large” in Administration of Justice, Arts/Media/Entertainment, CIS/ Applications, Physical Education, Early Childhood Education • “Needed” in logistics, trucking, manufacturing, construction trades, supervision

  25. Recent Delivery • During the years 2003-2006 • Attendance at “RCC only” decreased by 22% • Multi-campus attendance down by 44% • Open Campus increased by 50% • Attendance at High School increased by 89%
