Locate and write the author’s last name.

Write the volume and issue number.

Locate the date. Write the date based off of what you are given. If you just have the year…(2012). If you are given the month and year…Nov. 2004. If you are given the full date…13 June 2008.

Write the page numbers.

Locate the online database and italicize.

The last entry is the date of access, which can be located on the bottom right corner of your print out. Write it in MLA date format.

Don’t forget to do a “hanging indent” after you have typed your citation. First, highlight your source, right click, go to paragraph, special and choose hanging.
