  3. Proverbs Whoso finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favour of the LORD. Proverbs 18:22 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth, and be thou ravished always with her love. Proverbs 5:18-19

  4. Intimacy in marriage aka Why isn’t my spouse perfect like me?

Intimacy in marriage And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, andI was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. Genesis 3:8-10

  7. 1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known… (ginosko=to learn to know, come to know, get a knowledge of, perceive, feel) the mind… (nous= a particular mode of thinking and judging i.e. thoughts, feelings, purposes, desires) of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

  8. Communication Derives from Latin: • Communico: share by giving or receiving • Communio: strengthen or fortify • Communionis: sharing in common • Communitas: fellowship; affability; courteous, politeness

  9. Intimacy Derives from the Latin word: INTIMUS: innermost ,deepest secret, most intimate friend. To sum up the word: ‘IN TO ME – SEE’

  10. Other Useful Latin Sayings • Hic puer est stultissimus omniun = This boy is the stupidest of all. • Nullam gratuitum prandium = There is no free lunch. • Quando omni flunkus moritatus = When all else fails play dead. • Quid est illa in auqua = What’s that in the water?

  11. Man (male and female) were designed and made for LOVE He that loves not, knows not God;for God is love 1 John 4:8 The God who is love made us in his image Get this straight – ‘Things can’t love us’

  21. Communicating • A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear. Proverbs 25:11-12 • A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! Proverbs 15:23 • Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones Proverbs 16:24

Communicating • Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted Galatians 6:1 • And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4 :8 • A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak Eccles 3:7

  23. Too shy? One of the meanings of arrogance is: ‘…which exalts the worth or importance of the person to an undue degree’ You are not alone: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
