  2. 1. Sydney Opera House has the tiled roof Do you know that the world-famous Sydney Opera House has domes that are tiled! Oh yes, there are two colors of tiles laid in the chevron pattern. If you can count them, there are more than 1million tiles which are also known as the Sydney Tiles.

He found this tile play very fascinating and went so deep in creating various tile tessellations which also cover Moorish and geometric arts.

  4. 3. Tiles in space shuttles & rockets Yes, ceramic tiles are also used in rockets and space shuttles. They are used to protect the rocket from extremely high temperatures while coming in contact with earth’ atmosphere. Also, engineered ceramics are used in the rockets’ exhaust cones.

  5. 4. Oldest ceramic tile was found in 25000 BC It is regarded that tile and ceramic technology are rooted back in the Egyptian era- 6000 years back! Not only this, it is also recorded that the oldest ceramic tile was discovered in 25000 BC.
