  1. First Page • Design, Manufacture, Transport and Integration on-site in Chile of ALMA Antennas • POWER DISTRIBUTION • PM#07 13-14 Sept 2006

  2. UPS characteristics COMPLETION OF THE POWER DISTRIBUTION DESIGNING BOUND BY: • DEFINITION OF INTERFACES WITH FINAL CHOISE OF ANTENNA EQUIPMENTS (LINKED TO MANUFACTURERS); • ALMA EQUIPMENT CABLING INFORMATIONS NOT COMPLETE; • CONTROL DESIGNING UNDER DEFINITION MISSING ESO ANSWER ABOUT AEM INTERLOCK QUESTIONS.

  3. CABLING PENDING(ANTD-80.04.00.00-019-A-PLA Cabling Installation Plan for AEM Antenna Contractor) • Paragraph 4.2 – “AMB bus cables” table - # 33 • two cables listed passing by the Elevation cable Wrap as against the figure 1 where only one cable is signed; • Paragraph 4.2 – “RF, Ethernet and Telephone cables” table - # 43 • the cable is signed passing by the Elevation cable Wrap against the figure 1 where is shown passing by the Azimuth cable Wrap; DEFINITION OF ALMA CABLES DEFINITION OF ELEVATION CABLE WRAP

  4. Control and signal cables

  5. CABLING PENDING(ANTD-80.04.00.00-019-A-PLA Cabling Installation Plan for AEM Antenna Contractor) • Paragraph 4.4.2 – “Power cables to be bought by an ALMA IPT and installed by the antenna contractor” table - #1 • a 48VDC cable is signed and the same cable appears in the figure 2. This is in contrast with the statement of ESO-AEM TM32 del 21.07.2006 where the 48VDC supply seems to be eliminated with the statement: • 9) "1" = spare # the 48VDC need has been dropped as not used anymore by ALMA DEFINITION OF ALMA CABLES HAVE THE ANTENNA CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE A 48VDC POWER SUPPLIER?

  6. CABLING PENDING(ANTD-80.04.00.00-019-A-PLA Cabling Installation Plan for AEM Antenna Contractor) • Paragraph 4.4.2 – “Power cables that are to be supplied and installed by the antenna contractor” table - # 9a and 9b : • Analog Rack powered separately from Digital Rack? • Code connectors not equivalent with the rated current specified. DEFINITION OF CONDUITS INSIDE THE RECEIVER CABIN IDENTIFICATION OF CONNECTORS

  7. Power cables

  8. CABLING PENDING(ANTD-80.04.00.00-019-A-PLA Cabling Installation Plan for AEM Antenna Contractor) • Paragraph 4.4.2 – “Power cables that are to be supplied and installed by the antenna contractor” table - # 9h : • Information regarding power of Nutator Controller missing DEFINITION OF FEEDERS INSIDE THE CABINETS DEFINITION OF POWER BUDGET

  9. CABLING PENDING(ANTD-80.04.00.00-019-A-PLA Cabling Installation Plan for AEM Antenna Contractor) • Paragraph 4.4.2 – “Power cables that are to be supplied and installed by the antenna contractor” table • # 7 : UPS FE Power supply (16A) signed to belong to the “Non-Critical Bus” (3) against its ICD and figure 2; • The figure 2 shows a cable (identification number 8) named “stable DC source” which connects the FE power supply to the FE but it is not included in the table. Is it a cable to be supplied by Antenna Contractor? Which kind of cable is it? DEFINITION OF CABLE LIST DEFINITION CONDUITS INSIDE THE RECEIVER CABIN
