Just Do It • Nike struggled to compete against winning rival Reebok during the 1980’s, which inspired the “Just Do It” Campaign • Just do it original http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENi1SvEFqsQ • 1988 to 1998 Nike increased domestic sport-shoe market share from 18 to 43% • Sales increased from $877 million to $9.2 billion in just ten years

Nike & Celebrity Endorsements • During the “Just Do It” campaign, one of their key components to the campaign was the use of celebrity endorsements. • Celebrity endorsements allowed consumers to feel more connected and relate better to the product and brand. • They used celebrities like Micheal Jordan, Serena Williams and Lance Armstrong

Just Do It: Lance Armstrong • The Lance Armstrong campaign reached out to potential consumers who had a lack of confidence towards success • This was an attempt to motivate people to become more active and reach for goals they thought were impossible • Nike was attempting to break into a new target market, its not just for athletes, but for anyone and everyone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEEpn115eQE Lance Just Do It

The Kobe System • The Multi Media Campaign invites consumers to be an active part of the Kobe System, both in sport and in life • Its another motivational campaign much like the “Just Do It” campaign which lead NIKE to huge success • The main difference between this campaign and the last is Humor, which Nike isn’t really known for.
