  11. Classroom Expectations • Be respectful and responsible • Do your best • Be safe • Bring a pencil, IKE pages and your science journal to class every day

  12. Class Work • Science class work • includes group work, • inquiry labs, readings and processing for learning. • Students must complete work and keep on top of their progress in science in a timely and responsible manner.

  13. Tardies and Absences • Your child’s IKE pages will outline Eisenhower’s tardy and absence policies. • When your child is absent from school, missed class work and assessments will need to be completed. • Science is primarily lab based, therefore missed lab work will need to be completed in the classroom instead of at home. • Many assignments are available for you to see and print from my website.

  14. Science Journals An essential component to science learning • Each student will need three composition books (one for each unit). • All assignments must be completed to the best of each student’s ability. • Journals are a resource, study guide, and system to practice knowledge and learning. • Journals can go home, but need to be in class each day.

  15. Grading • Science Journal Checked • Classwork and Homework completed • Summative Assessments • Grades are entered into the grade book by the learning targets • and will appear online • *Classwork and Homework is a percentage of students’ grades. • Tips and suggestions for studying are in the reference section of your child’s science journal.

  16. Makeup Work • Science File • Check with classmates • Check Website Science Calendar • Arrangements for after school

  17. Communication With You • Check on line for current grades • Check website calendar for current assignments and assessments. • Ike pages • Phone • Web Page • E-mailMs. Melissa Johnson Room D 104 MJohnson2@everettsd.org (425) 385-7634 Website: 1) Go to Eisenhower Home Page; 2) Our Staff; 3)Teachers; 4) Johnson, Melissa
