  6. Books Promote Diversity Books can promote diversity by showing different situations and giving the reader a perspective they may not have had before they began reading. An example of this would be Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird in which one is shown how diversity can end up bringing people together, despite how different they believed they were in the beginning.

  7. American Progress Believes Diversity is Important With the article 10 Reasons Why We Need Diversity on College Campuses posted to the American Progress website, they provide ten reasons which they believe are important for having diversity among young, college aged-students. Promotes teaching people about the importance of acceptance of differences at a younger age. Article can be found at http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/race/news/2012/10/09/41004/10-reasons-why-we-need-diversity-on-college-campuses/

  8. Coca-Cola Supports Diversity During the Super Bowl, a Coca-Cola commercial sparked controversy. Many people of different backgrounds, ethnicities, and languages were brought together and sang ‘America the Beautiful’ which many saw as a fantastic portrayal of how diverse America is and the magnitude that diversity has on our country.

  9. Diversity in America • Diversity is what makes America the “Melting Pot” that it is today. Without diversity, many people would be stuck unhappy, having to follow in the footsteps of everyone else. Diversity makes America land of opportunity, so people may do as they please. Diversity is a key to success in America and allows for people to live in freedom.
