  1. Remember the Titans is a true story. It’s 1971. In Alexandria, Virginia, a community where black students attend a black school and white students attend a white school. Times are just about to change…the local high schools have just been ordered to integrate into one: T.C. Williams High School, and the people of the community are divided on this issue.

  2. Who will bring the Titans together as a team? Herman Boone—a black coach has been named head coach , replacing, Coach Bill Yoast, a white coach. How do you think the players will react to a new coach?

  3. Summer Camp • Before the season can begin, the team, both black and white players must come together and unite as one team if they have any hopes of winning even one game. • What will it take to bring the team together? Can black and white players put away their own prejudices?

  4. Not So Very Different • At summer camp, the players and coaches realize something very important: • They are not so different after all.

  5. The Season • As you watch the film, track the games and note important events that happen at each game. • What will it take to win?

  6. “The Right Stuff” Also as you watch the film, identify the character traits and qualities that put the Titans in a league of their own, “the best of the best.”
