  6. Pending Legislation • Provide information on education and basic competence of practitioners • Participate in process to understand legislative intent • With Scope of Practice issues provide requested information on professional training and Boards ability to regulate

  10. Do’s and Don’ts • Do: Prepare information and handouts to give to members or committee • Don’t: Read your handout word for word when testifying

  12. FACT or Fiction? • Legislators only care what constituents say. • Lobbyist’s have more influence that I do. • Best time to contact is during session or at Capital. • If you are right you will be successful. • All Legislators care about are polls and numbers.
