As a student trainer, you'll provide first aid, assist in injury prevention through proper techniques, and support our athletic trainers with treatments and rehabilitation. You'll gain valuable experience in the medical field, build lifelong friendships, and enjoy the thrill of being part of a team. WHO CAN BE A STUDENT ATHLETIC TRAINER? • DEDICATED • ENERGETIC • MOTIVATED • ACADEMICALLY SUCCESSFUL • UPSTANDING MEMBERS OF COMMUNITEE • STUDENTS 9TH -12TH GRADE • We receive several applications a year, but only a few meet the requirements to be a student athletic trainer at Haltom High!!

WHAT DOES A STUDENT ATHLETIC TRAINER DO? • Practice and Game preparation • First Aid for all athletes • Injury prevention through taping , wrapping and bracing. • Trained and Certified in Cpr and Firstaid. • Assist Athletic Trainers with treatments, rehabilitation and evaluation of athletic injuries.
WHEN? IN TEXAS, IT IS REALLY HOT, OR REALLY COLD
When do student athletic trainers work? • ALL THE TIME, ANY TIME. • Athletic Training requires a serious dedication from our student trainers. • Student trainers work everyday after school and on many weekends. Friday nights it is often a very late night! • During the summer, Football 2-a-days begin two weeks before school starts and student trainers are expected to be at every PRACTICE AND GAME. • In very HOT weather and very COLD
playoffs WHERE? Training room Home Games Away Games
ANY HALTOM HIGH SCHOOL GAME • Student trainers work every game, home or away. • Travel with the teams where ever they go. FIELD TRIPS!! • When teams make it to the playoffs the student trainers also get to travel. COWBOYS STADIUM! • The majority of the time is spent at practices or in the training room.
